Everyone is wonderful made we feel very comfortable.
This was my 2nd visit here in 5 years. My 1st visit was great. The 2nd visit not so much. I was there for both a colonoscopy and endoscopy. The reception at check in was good. Let me preface with I had an unfavorable reaction to the prep solution and came in with severe nausea and a pounding headache. The intake nurse was not warm in her approach. I explained the severe nausea as I pushed through her questions that were sometimes difficult to understand. I had to ask for something to vomit in and I felt like it was an inconvenience. She asked me after I had vomited if I needed tissue. I felt miserable. Once she inserted the IV, she said that she could now give me something for the nausea. I just wished she had communicated in some way to alleviate the distress I was experiencing. The anesthesiologist, Nichelle was amazing. She explained that my headache was due to the prep solution and to let my doctor know that it's probably not the best choice for me going forward. She explained what was to be expected in the procedure room, including a block being placed in my mouth. I informed her that I have TMJ and she told me it wouldn't be an issue for as soon as it's placed in my mouth, the anesthesia would start. Once I was in the procedure room, the assistant had me turn on my side and inserted the block. My doctor had stepped out of the room so they weren't ready. This triggered me a bit as I have had locked jaw twice due to a mouth block. The anesthesiologist was even surprised that she had already placed it in based on her reaction. Recovery: this is when the real disappointment happened. I was still pretty droggy and it felt as though I was being asked to wake up by the assistant. I was still feeling sedated. She brought my daughter in. Told me to get dressed in the bed with the rails up. I was then rushed to move to the consult room across the hall. I could barely walk, thankfully my daughter was there. We were placed in a room with 3 uncomfortable chairs. I still had chills from the anesthesia. I asked my daughter to get a warm blanket for me. I felt miserable in the room and could barely sit up. I also still had the pounding headache. I had my daughter pull another chair over to me for a makeshift way to lay down. We waited for what seemed another 20-30 minutes before I had my daughter go ask how much longer before my doctor would be in. I also needed another blanket. They told her Dr. Hackert was delayed due to another patient. I was miserable. They never checked to update me or check on me. I was so glad to leave. My procedure was on 2/12/25 @ 9 a.m. I like Dr. Hackert but I won't come back to this facility for future procedures. I'm also suffering with rhinitis 4 days later.
